Annual Conferences of The Southeastern Jurisdiction
As a way of introduction, Annual Conferences are comprised of the local churches, extension ministries, laity, and clergy within geographical areas. Annual Conferences resource congregations and ministries as each one seeks to fulfill the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Annual Conferences are made visible through the annual gatherings known as an Annual Conference session. Clergy are credentialed, held accountable, and deployed through their Annual Conference session. Strategies, decisions, and celebrations for the shared work of congregations and ministries are also part of the work of the session. Currently, the Southeastern Jurisdiction has 14 Annual Conferences. The former Memphis and Tennessee Conferences were united by action of the 2021 called session of the Southeastern Jurisdictional Conference, held virtually in July 2021.
